This is How I Help! is a heart-warming educational picture book for young children that serves as a springboard for discussion about autism. With bright illustrations and narration of real-life classroom scenarios, neurotypical students can understand what a child with autism may experience in a mainstream classroom and how those same students can learn from those experiences. This is How I Help! is a book about understanding, acceptance, friendship, and empowerment.
Wendi Sobelman is a former educator with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Ottawa University of Arizona. Wendi is a mother of triplets, including a son with autism who is currently a young adult. Past publications include articles on autism and articles about having triplets which were featured in various national magazines. In 2019, Wendi was featured on an episode of the TV show “Catalyst” regarding aging with autism. Wendi has been involved with the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC), the Gesher Disability Resources Board of Directors, and other local organizations serving those with disabilities.
