THE AUTHOR: Judi Folmsbee, educator, speaker, and writer has just completed her third children’s book, Ferica, the Fast Frog. This book follows the friends of Bubba, the Busy Beaver, her first book. Judi’s second book, Preposterous Pebbles, features a dog, Pebbles, who thinks she is a person. She is now turning her attention toward book number four, Ollie, the Outrageous Otter. Judi is a retired teacher from Woodbridge School District in Greenwood, Delaware, where she taught elementary school for 25 years. She visits local elementary schools and can be seen at local community events in Delaware such as: Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach; local library events; Boys and Girls Club; church community days; and the Holly Festival in Milton. In the spring of 2018, Judi was one of nine authors or illustrators who attended “Crafting a Successful Author Visit” sponsored by the Highlights Foundation. In September 2018, the book Bubba the Busy Beaver won the title of Reading with Your Kids Certified Fun Read! To find out more, go to jedlie.com. For those who have always wanted to write children’s books but don’t know where to start, Judi teaches classes. When she isn’t writing, Judi enjoys walking her dog, Champy, in the park or on the beach. She enjoys taking photographs, spending time with family, traveling, and gathering with friends. THE ILLUSTRATOR: Kylie Westlake is an illustrator and graphic designer from smack dab in the middle of the Finger Lakes region. Her illustrations started gaining recognition while she was earning her degree for Fine Arts and Graphic Design. During her schooling, she received multiple awards for her playful, light-hearted illustrations, and her self portrait “CREATE” was chosen for a year-long exhibit in Washington D.C. As she took illustration-based classes, Kylie realized her passions and style harmonized with children’s illustrations, and she decided to pursue the craft professionally. When she isn’t collecting sunflower decor or playing with her own preposterous pooch, Chloe, you can contact Kylie through her home office at kmwestlake@outlook.com.
