Find out how to make a delicious red bean brownie to share with your family

Preparation time: 15 minutes Cooking time: 20 minutes

List of ingredients to make Red Bean Brownie for 4 people

  • 400 grams of cooked red beans
  • 200 grams of dark pastry chocolate
  • 100 grams of whole sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 80 grams of wholemeal flour
  • 1 teaspoon of yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla powder

The preparation

  • First, preheat your oven to 180°C.
  • Blend the red beans, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a blender until smooth.
  • Melt the chocolate over low heat in a saucepan. Then add it to your mixture.
  • Add the flour and yeast. Mix everything until you obtain a very homogenous paste.
  • Pour this dough into a square mold and bake for around 20 minutes. Your brownie should be nicely browned.
  • Dietary recipe

This red bean brownie is a much better option than the classic brownie for people who want to watch their diet. By replacing the butter with red beans, we obtain a dessert rich in protein and fiber, but low in fat. To make this brownie even more dietary, you can replace the whole grain sugar with agave syrup and the whole grain flour with almond flour.

    Tips and variations

If you want to try something different, feel free to add nuts or chocolate chips to your batter. You can also replace the red beans with black beans for an even more original variation. And if you want to make this dessert even more indulgent, you can serve it with a dollop of homemade whipped cream on top. Mmm, a delight! And if dark chocolate isn’t your cup of tea, you can always substitute milk chocolate for the dark chocolate for a milder taste. So, my little budding chefs, can we get our hands dirty?
